1. Mt Kosciuszko

Mt Kosciuszko is a mountain located in the Snowy Mountains in Kosciuszko National Park, in New South Wales. Standing 2,228 metres tall, it is the highest mountain in Australia, yet is relatively easily to climb.

2. Mt Townsend

Also located in the Kosciuszko National Park is the nation's second highest peak, Mt Townsend. This mountain has a craggy peak and is thought of as more dominant than its rival, Kosciuszko.

3. Mt Twynam

The third highest mountain, Twynam is also located in the Snowy Mountains on the Main Range. Although the mountain is large, it is unimposing and has fantastic views over Blue Lake Cirque and the Western Falls. It is rarely visited so it is the perfect place to escape the crowds.

4. Rams Head

Rams Head is also located within the Kosciuszko National Park in New South Wales. Standing 2166m above sea level, Rams Head is Australia's fourth highest peak and is easily accessed via the Alpine Way. Its close location to Thredbo makes it the perfect destination during the winter months.

5. Etheridge Ridge

The unnamed peak on Etheridge Ridge stands at 2180 metres tall and is the 5th largest peak in Australia. It is also located in the Kosciuszko National Park and is a close neighbour to Kosciuszko itself.

6. Rams Head North

The pyramid-like summit of North Rams Head stands 2177 metres tall is one of the most prominent mountains of the Rams Head Range. The view from the peak offers stunning water views and is simply amazing.

7. Alice Rawson Peak

The Great Dividing Range is home to Australia's seventh highest peak, Alice Rawson. It has a close proximity to Mount Townsend and stands 2160 metres tall.
