1. Uluru/ Ayers Rock

Uluru, which is also known as Ayers Rock, is a large sandstone rock formation, positioned in Australia's Northern Territory. 2. The Beaches

Australia is well renowned for its beautiful beaches, and no matter what part of the country's coastline you are visiting, you are sure to come across at least one of them. If you love the crowds and the whole holiday beach experience, you will feel right at home at Bondi, in Sydney or at Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast. However, if it is seclusion, peace and serenity you are after, find a spot along the Great Ocean Road or in one of our country's many National Parks. 3. The Mountains

The mountain ranges of Australia are enough to rival Everest and K-2! Famous mountain ranges include the Snowy Mountains, The Glasshouse Mountains, the Bunya Mountains, the Blue Mountains, Flinders Ranges, the Grampians and the Great Dividing Range. Then there are also many freestanding mountains that are simply spectacular. Mountains such as Tamborine, Cradle, Warning and Kosciuszko will simply take your breathe away and the views you will experience from them will remain in your memory forever.

4. The Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef system in the world, and possibly the most beautiful sight along the Australian shores. The reef is located in the Coral Sea, off the coast of the state of Queensland. This truly is an amazingly unique marine environment; literally like none other in the world. It has been named as one of the natural wonders of the world many times, making it one of the most important places in the country.

5. The Outback

The Australian outback refers to the remote, arid areas of our country. This takes up a lot of Australia's land mass, making us one of the most unique countries in the world. The outback is home to some amazing wildlife that can be found nowhere else on the planet. The wide open roads stretch for miles and the ambience and beauty of the area will wrap you up tight and never want to let you go. The great Australian outback is essentially what makes our country our own and is a lasting symbol of our connection with our land and the very vastness of our great country.

6. The Great Ocean Road

Following the spectacular coastline of south-west Victoria, the Great Ocean Road is one of our country's most precious possessions. Known as one of the world's most scenic drive, this route will take you through pleasant resort towns, past stunning, pristine beaches and to another of the world's marvels, the Twelve Apostles. However, it is not just the coast of the Great Ocean Road that will capture your attention, the beautiful National Parks, rainforests and pounding waterfalls will capture your heart and make you realise, once again, just how amazing Australia is!

7. Sydney Harbour

Sydney is one of Australia's most famous cities and its harbour is the highlight of the city. Home to such wonders as the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Taronga Zoo and the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour is commonly referred to as the most beautiful natural harbour in the world. The 240 kilometre shoreline encompasses 54 square kilometres of water and essentially, this translates into a large mass of adventure, exploration and discovery. Sydney Harbour truly is an amazing place and can easily be explored in the many city ferries that pull out of Circular Quay each and every day. You really can't say you have experienced the harbour until you have been out on it, and once you do, you may never want to come back to the shore again.

8. Cape Tribulation/ Daintree

Australia is home to some of the most diverse areas in the world and Cape Tribulation and the Daintree are no exceptions. The Daintree National Park is within the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area and is regarded as one of our most precious ecosystems. The whole area consists of rain forested mountains that sweep down to the beautiful long, sandy beaches of the cape. Visiting this area also gives you the chance to experience the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics World Heritage Areas. This area of our country is simply exceptional and for some, there really is no better place to be.

9. Kakadu National Park

One of the things that makes our country so unique is the strong presence of the Aboriginal people here. This presence is heavily felt in the Northern Territory and in particular, in Kakadu National Park. Located within the Alligator Rivers region of the Territory, Kakadu spans for a total of 1,980,400 hectares and is truly a sight to behold. The major landforms here include the estuaries and tidal flats, floodplains, lowlands, the stone country, the outliers and the southern hills and basins. This is an endless space of exploration full of amazing wonders and sights and is definitely not one to miss!

10. Fraser Island

As the largest sand island in the world, Fraser Island is close to the top of the list of what makes Australia such an amazing place. Ranked closely to Uluru, Kakadu and the Great Barrier Reef, Fraser Island is a place of exceptional beauty.
